Lucky me, I’ve got two for the price of one for this month’s poetry and photo competitions! I’ve just spent the weekend in Port Alfred.
We headed up the Sunshine coast
one hundred miles away
a river mouth, fishing boats
a three bedroom log chalet

Colleagues may recall my original ‘Grey bay‘ picture, I thought I’d do a ‘Blue’ one for comparison.

Ja well, this is an entry taken yesterday for the current photo competition, ‘favourite thing(s)’ An explanation follows –
This picture adorned the front page of my daily read yesterday, I thought I’d share.

As you can see, a fine and varied collection of items adorning our homes, a huge thank you to the participants.
On to the judging then, in order of appearance …
I was at the shopping mall at Ocean Terminal in Embra yesterday afternoon for various mundane reasons. When necessity drives me there, I always try to lift my spirits by driving to the very top parking level and looking out north over the Firth of Forth. I defy anybody not to find that a lift to the spirits.
Anyhow, I cast a soothed eye over the Western Harbour of Leith docks and saw that two of our gallant allies were present and moored yards away from the most famous denizen of said harbour. Continue reading “‘You realise, of course, that this means War.’”
I’ve always known that I was lucky ever since I won a box of 12 Dunlop 65 golf balls at the Invergordon Conservative Club raffle at the age of 7. Total profit as my Auntie Ina had bought me the ticket and I was able to sell them to my Dad for the princely sum of three week’s pocket money (1/6d). Result!
