Just seen this on my TV this evening, our satellite provider transmits throughout Africa, hopefully it might help one or two up north.

Remember this guy?
Hats off to our local sports channel for reminding us.
And a big thank you to Bert for participating.
I’m not quite sure whether our national broadcaster refused to flight the ad or if it was withdrawn by the agency, whichever, it has been in the news recently and stirred quite a controversy!
Hee hee, my Sunday read informs me that our public broadcaster has refused to flight Nando’s new anti-xenophobic ad! Yes, the word ‘anti’ is not a typo or mistake. (Report here ‘SABC chickens out on Nando’s ad’)
I think it’s quite funny……
🙂
Ha ha, check out 1:06
Sipu recently published the latest ad from Nando’s titled “Last Dictator standing” lampooning bob mugabe, if you missed it or haven’t seen it yet here it is , go and have a look, it will help you make sense of this, Wigget’s latest cartoon published today in my local weekend read.
Sipu also posted a comment linking to a Business Day report which stated that Nando’s had been pressured into withdrawing the ad, well they didn’t, I’m pleased to report that I saw it flighted again today, I’ve now probably seen it perhaps 10 times since its launch on Thursday.
Funny enough, all the ads that I’ve seen have had the Chairman Mao (Karaoke bar) scene omitted, perhaps Nando’s Beijing shareholders hold more sway than                          those up in Harare 😉
Nando’s have pulled the ad, press release published in my Sunday Times here 😦
Oh! The cartoon, on the next page…
So there I was watching the television over the weekend and a promo comes on for Joanne Lumley and her trip down the Nile.
Looks like it could be a good series (okay, I know that most here have probably seen it already but we haven’t)
Back to the promo, in the background I hear one of my favourite tunes of all time, so I start googling to find the artist and hear a bit more than the BBC aired.
Couldn’t find it, it’s not on the DVD credits nor the BBC Knowledge website, I asked Mrs. Soutie just now, she says “oh ja, Heya na na na”
We found it and wanted to share…
Here’s the full version without the humanoids Continue reading “Heya, na na na”
