February Poetry Competition – PRIDE.

Something for everyone this month?

The topic for  your musing will be PRIDE.

All of us have been around long enough to have something of which we are proud, in my case it is mostly my longevity.

It can always go before a fall of course and those of you having a Presbyterian bent (and you know who you are) can make it as sinful as you wish, it will always end in tears.

Entries here or on a separate post and linked, by February 15 2013 midnight local time.

Extra points for  R-P of course,  good luck.

  1. To me, RP stands for Received Pronunciation, although a disease of the eye and a mathematical complexity measure lurk in the background as alternatives. Wiki gives many other possible expansions, but none seem to fit this context.

OK, I’ll admit I’m thick, but a translation would be greatly appreciated. 😕

  2. Ah, I’m pleased you brought up this subject, Bearsy.

I thought, only thought, that it meant, rhyming pomes, but clarification would be appreciated.

  3. Sorry Bearsy: More haste less clarity in this case. R-P has nothing to do with Turing and I’m not going there again. In this case intended Rumpy-Pumpy or maybe Rumpy-Tumpy. In any case a good rollicking rhyme. Pronunciation can be regional or national, depending on the reader.
