Waiting for Summer

Well, what a frustrating few days… with no access to WordPress! Thank you to everyone who emailed suggestions to me, and in particular to Tilly who posted about the problem and through this found an email address to try. What ever action it was that solved the problem, it now seems I am back.

Here’s Pippi under the wheelbarrow after the man with the noisy machine had gone. The grass looks awful as it has just been scarified!

I must be the only person in the UK who was glad it rained on Thursday. A big noisy machine and a hard-working chap attacked the lawn on Wednesday, removing layers of thatch and dead weeds…ten full, large sacks. The chap then fed and re-seeded the lawn, and if it hadn’t rained I would have needed to water the area, to make sure those seeds didn’t go to waste. In fact the hose pipe ban has now been lifted in our region, so it wouldn’t have been a trawl up and down with watering cans filled from the water butts as it was last time I had to water in the feed and weed!

This morning  there are grey skies, still full of rain, and significant wind. No warmth.

I have had a week off work (after the half term break) and achieved very little, but feel better for it – I feel more ‘in charge,’ if that makes sense. A few papers sorted, a quotation in, a project started, an exercise plan in place, more reading done, and preparation for the mid-summer poetry and music evening on Thursday is nearly completed. (Mid-summer? Hah!)

Many things on my list undone, as yet, though I have a few more days. I go back to work on Tuesday.

I wonder how long that feeling of being in-charge of my own life, will last?!

No time to lose. No, time to lose. Make time to stand and stare.... Did you see that?

  1. Good to see you have overcome the technical difficulties, Nym, and you’ve fought your way back to WordPress. 🙂

I’m off to do some sorting in a moment, I feel in a bit of a muddle, but I don’t have any excuse, except perhaps, it’s a chore, and I’ve been involved in rather more enjoyable things.

It’s a good feeling being in control, but it rarely lasts with me!

  2. You’re right, it rarely lasts with me either!
There are still rather a lot of revision books around, with a few GCSE and A level exams lurking int he next week or so. Not for too much longer though 🙂
