As the somewhat startled winner of both December comps it falls upon me to set the next contests. The question is, do cherished colleagues want them immediately with a closing date during the festive season or do you want to wait until after the final New Year burp? I’m easy either way, but any suggestions/comments/guidance would be gratefully received.

Eclectic, is that a real word? Probably the first time I have used it. That’s what they were, a small selection but the essence of the year was there. Echos of the Olympics in Ara’s 1948 notice and JM’s golden pillar, a fine piece of building by Pseu. , the artwork, well not my kind of thing, I’m more Gainsborough than van Gogh, but to each her own. Then couple of events by OZ, one tragic and one dramatic (see what I mean about eclectic).
What a weekend. IT started in the week when I downloaded a programme to get a file sent. The programme was Frostwire.
First I did an uninstall on both, even tried system restore. Yes both said it had gone… No it hadn’t
Frostwire installed and by default even though I ticked NO it installed a website hijacker called Funmood. It has taken all day to remove this bugger from my PC. Continue reading “I should know better. WARNING”

Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States is the right to keep and to bear arms.
Right, or is it? How bloody sad for the parents of these children, and the families of their teachers who were slaughtered.
I doubt very much that the citizens of the United States would want any restrictions to their right to bear arms but is there any way these killings can be prevented?

As I am sure most here are aware – two young Australian radio presenters phoned the King Edward VII hospital pretending to be the Queen and Prince Charles. The call was put through. Beat the third-place team from European Nations Cup Division 1A in a straight knock-out – Georgia, Romania, Russia and Spain are among the Division 1A sides.
ONLY THEN WOULD CYPRUS QUALIFY FOR THE REPECHAGE COMPETITION
Win a repechage semi-final against a team from Africa, the Americas or Asia.
Win a two-legged final against the other semi-final winner.

So far this December, in the deep south-east of England, apart from a few snow flurries a week ago, we have had mainly sunny days and frosty nights in these here parts. In fact, it is a beautiful sunny day as I type. I wonder how long it will be before the water companies are bleating about drought and hosepipe bans!
