Come on chaps and chapesses. We have some good photos now but a few more would not go amiss. Less than a week to go.

No, not really. However a Liberal MEP has noted one of the EU’s sillier expenditure of money. They claim that studies prove that prunes do not have a laxative effect. He has challenged them to a prune eating contest to see what the truth is :-). I have no idea, as I do not really like prunes and I do not have any problems in that area, but I think we should be told!
It is a good job our 50 million pounds a day contribution to the EU coffers is not wasted! I wonder what other competitions we could envisage?
Come on, you lot!
Only a few, very good, entries so far.

Yesterday, Mrs FEEG and I caught the train to London and had a decent nosh in a Cafe Rouge chain restaurant in town. After that, we caught a tube to Earls Court and went to the British Military Tournament, the revived but somewhat modified Royal Tournament.
You may remember that the treacherous barsteward, Tony Blair, cancelled the original one, ostensibly on the grounds of costs, but really because it conflicted with his ideas of Britain as a part of Europe!
We had seen a Royal Tournament before it was cancelled so could compare directly. The main elements were all there, the horse, massed bands, demonstrations of military tactics and so on. It was themed on the “Special Relationship with the USA” and had some very good displays from the US Army, and diplomatically they forgot to mention that they always turn up late for World Wars :-). There was even a Field Gun Race which, held between two teams of Sea Cadets from Wellington College using half sized guns, was still exciting. Since the idea of all this was to raise money for Military Charities, it was all very worth while and money well spent. In spite of all the cuts the UK military is still extremely capable and competent.
I hope David Cameron has seen this, since he saw fit to write a foreword in the program. We need the military more than ever so STOP CUTTING MILITARY EXPENDITURE AND MAKE CUTS WHERE THEY SHOULD BE MADE!
After my stunning, but totally fortuitous, triumph in the previous Photographic Competition, I believe it behoves me to suggest a theme for the next one and pronounce judgement upon everyone’s efforts.
In order to allow the next competition setter (mug) to organise a Chrimbo theme, if they so wish, I propose that the deadline is Wednesday 21st December.
Since it has long been an interest of mine, I suggest the theme of “Flight”. Any variation on the theme will do, planes, balloons, airships, birds, insects, kites, old, new, you name it, as long as it is capable of getting into the air.
Just to get the ball rolling, but doubly disqualified because it is (a) displayed by me and (b) because it is not mine, here is a new aircraft under development.

So, come on chaps and chappesses. Get clicking or rummaging through the archives!
Entries in the comments section, as usual.
A Happy Thanksgiving to all our American readers.
Do not overdo the turkey, cornbread or the green bean casserole. 🙂
And finally, I hope you will all be up at midnight to get all those bargains on Black Friday! 🙂
Once again, Prince Philip has expressed a view that a large majority of the country agree with, but those in the corrupt political classes do not.
He has stated, to the face of the CEO of a major wind turbine manufacturer, that wind farms are useless.
Keep dishing it out, Duke!
A few years ago, if you typed the name of the town of Scunthorpe into any online post, the over-fussy and too zealous modbots, those little bits of software that filter rude words out of postings and replace them with ****, would remove part of the name.
Now it turns out that Scunthorpe is the fastest growing online hub in the UK. Oh, what irony 🙂

Many people, including one or two contributors here, might appreciate this piece of scientific research. It definitely shows that they are out to get you!
Mrs FEEG and I have just returned from a visit to our son and daughter-in-law in Washington DC. We had a great time while over there, visiting many new sights (and restaurants) in the DC, Virginia and Maryland area.
