  1. Cute and think that the bloody asians would kill it in a moment for its tusks.
I hope they all get SARS!!
    More elephants less people!

What about the now 6000 dead pigs then?
    The Chinese are disgusting!

  2. … and now those nasty Crusaders over in Canterbury have walloped our Kings but all is not lost, we did score more points than the Bulls last week and 7 more than the Lions last year!

I’m sure that we’ll win one soon

  3. Fiela, I’m sorry, more bad news I’m afraid, those rotten New Zealand sheep #%%^$&&** herders made our Kings play at half past five this morning! Who wants to play rugby at that time? Is it any wonder that we lost to the Hurricanes over in Wellington.

    … … … and we still haven’t garnered a single bonus log point 😦

  4. Well then Fiela, have I got good news for you!

No, not a win, but my, it felt like one.

We played the Brumbies, those Ozzie log leaders over in Canberra, that’s the team now coached by Jake White, (the guy that coached our Springboks to world cup glory back in ’07)

We DREW! 28 all but we scored 4 tries to their 2!

So, we got 3 log points and they only got 2, see what I mean about feeling like a win?

Our Kings made us very proud today 🙂

  5. Well done the Kings, Soutie.

Mind you, it’s not always all about tries. Nothing wrong with having a kicker who can slot seven penalties to win you the game. C’mon the Sharks!

Watching Blues v Highlanders at the moment and just seen the criminal Ma’a Nonu shoulder charge. Walsh is a lucky man that he was able to see it on replay and issue the deserved yellow card retrospectively.

Don’t tell me the final score. I’m enjoying the game.

I’m both surprised and delighted that anyone even looks in on this page, my record of our 1st sojourn in Super rugby, you’ve made my day. 🙂

Yes, well done the Sharks, our studio panel made a big deal of the Sharks being without a lot of their first choice through injury, conveniently forgetting that neither Carter nor McCaw made the trip here.

Whats with those Highlanders? Played 6 lost 6, we host them here on May 11 (5pm)

My target for our Kings this year is to score more log points than the Lions did last year (25)

    Rebels next week in Melbourne

Tangents, rugby, more importantly Super rugby, were talking about my Province’s performance so far in the BIG league.

Rugby played on grass, that’s that green stuff that grows on the ground and cows eat, have you forgotten? 😉

  8. Perhaps I should also mention that the Kings last game is scheduled for July 13th (v the Sharks would you believe, we could make or break their season!)

So it looks like there’ll be three more months of ‘Fiela’s updates’ 😉

🙂 Er is that g-r-a-s-s? I’ll google it now!

  10. Soutie, good evening.

Major Wheeeeeee! for the Kings. Some game and some finish. That drop goal was the coolest display from any Greek since Zeno of Citium first thought up stoicism. In my opinion.

Shark-wise,glad we got the bonus point in our loss to the Stormers but this lack of tries is beginning to be a bit of worry. They are starting to remind me of the Scottish Rugby team and that is a strain for a follower of Epicurus,

Since the beginning of this campaign my friends and I have had a slogan / buzzword. We start and finish discussions with it, use it in texts, BBMs or e-mails it’s one word BELIEVE

… and as you’ve probably noticed on this page, we’ve believed, we’re believers!

Which reminds me of that Julius Cesar quote as related by that famous historian Goscinny “I came, I saw, I couldn’t believe my eyes”

(for the record, our mighty Southern Kings snatched a famous and hard fought victory today over in Melbourne Australia, an injury time drop to snatch victory over the Rebels 27-30)

Yes, both the Sharks and Stormers camps must be worried, bearing in mind that they still have to ‘travel’ there must be a lot of worried staff and supporters out there.

JM, your classical allusions (or are they illusions?) are entirely in keeping with this philosophical thread. Doesn’t Pope Francis of Assisi deserve a mention too, having come on in injury time for Ben?

  13. It had to happen, my Kings got hammered 😦

… and by the Bulls of all people! I knew that we would have days like this, in fact I’m rather surprised that we haven’t had more but for it to happen yesterday, here, in front of 44,000 of us was really unkind.

We didn’t score a single point! (sob, we lost 34-0) In fact it’s hard to remember when we were in their half! It was a hiding of note, And just to rub salt in the wound it was Pottie (Jacques Potgieter, born here, schooled here, played E.P. Schools and then Eastern Province here, before being ‘poached’ by the Bulls and moving on to Springbok glory) who halted our heroic defence in the 74th minute or so and helped the Bulls grab that oh so vital bonus point.

Cheetahs away next week and then the Warratahs and Highlanders at home, I hope to have better news then.

Only 12½ thousand bothered to pitch up at Kings Park to watch another really dire performance by the Sharks, tryless and limited to 2 penalties. the Sharks are off to NZ and play the Chiefs on Saturday morning, looks like a long and difficult tour for them

  14. Morning all, there I was hoping that we could knock a couple of spots off those Free State Cheetahs up in Bloemfontein yesterday but … you guessed it, lost again (26-12) We couldn’t even score a try although to be fair we got a lot closer to scoring one than we did last week against those nasty Bulls.

We have 2 home games next, I’ll be there to see if we can do better against Aussie opposition.

The Sharks? I hear you ask, well they played last years winners the Chiefs over in NZ, perhaps the worst start that I’ve ever witnessed to a super rugby game, they were 24 nil down after only 17 minutes! The Sharks did claw their way back but that initial points deficit was just too much to overcome, they had 2 bonus points in the bag before Keegan Daniel decided to toss one away in the 80th minute!

  15. Last night on Boots “n All both Bob Skinstad and Naas Botha tipped our Kings for a home win tomorrow afternoon, we’ll see.

  16. Aaaargh!! we got clobbered, those guys from Sydney ran amok, we lost 72 -10 more here

and the team that we’re playing next week just scored their first victory of the tournament (against the Sharks nogal!)
