Life’s a Beach

On vacation this week, borrowed a house from my rich business partner, on the beach at Lewes (say Lew-is), Delaware. Got here late Friday night via Delaware City, Delaware (more about which later). Raining today and windy with it, holiday innit?
Lewes (the First Town in the First State) was settled by the Dutch in 1631 in what was to become Delaware (the first state to sign the Declaration) so naturally it is home to the Zwaanendael Museum just a couple of blocks away from here, and perhaps a little more surprising home to the Kalmar Nykel, a replica of the Dutch ship that brought original settlers to Wilmington, Delaware (sixty miles North of here), however, they were Swedes, following me so far?
Here she is back in 2011 on the Bay.

Back in Delaware City on Thursday, we found a new watering hole, an enterprising couple have started a new tavern on Clinton Street just off the canal, Thursday night is “Blue Dress” night and any ladies wearing blue drink for free, the pub is called Lewinsky’s, and all three waitresses are named Monica.

It’s known locally of course as “Lewinsky’s on Clinton”

Well I thought it was funny.

Glad to see you in recovery mode, LW.
“Blue Dress” night sounds fun. For free beer I would steal a Bic razor and shave my legs.

    You’re right it is funny.

Of course Monica’s famous stained dress was blue!

What do you get free for compromising stains?

Pity the photo comp for transport is finished. She’s a beauty (the ship I mean) 🙂

Mrs. O. The whole sorry event was debated at length with the staff, they had heard every single joke and jest about the subject on multiple occasions. What does one get for compromising stains? A free cigar, of course.

Janus: Did not risk the food, sampled a few brews and were on our way.
