A rather dark view on the approaching northern Hemisphere Spring, it’s short so I decided to illustrate it.

It’s dry
The drought persists.
The rains have passed us by
Another summer missed.
The Gods
Ignore our prayer,
Salvation from the clouds.
It must be Spring somewhere.
Your ‘pome’ could have been written about here – until this year. One needs to be vary, very careful what one asks for… 🙂
Hello Boa, ja I know.
I recall a conversation with Bearsy a year or so ago about our respective conditions.
Isn’t it frustrating to see the rest of the world receiving record (in some instances) downpours and yet we stay dry.
I’m used to it, earliest I can remember is the great flood of ’68, 16 inches in one day!
Then the rains of ’74 or 5 which didn’t do too much damage to the town but washed away our pipelines to the dams, that was pretty serious.
And so it goes on, famine and feast, latest was perhaps 4 years ago, washed away a couple of bridges (they were old) on important thoroughfares.
Our problem is that the morons now in charge of local government have sat back, watched the population influx and done nothing at all to increase our water storage capacity.
Latest forecast for decent rain is now September / October 😦
It’s raining here now. Despite the white winter the ground is already quite dry. Strange that in both our countries water is low on the political agenda. We have enough but it is so polluted by farm chemicals that it costs a fortune to clean it so we pay three times as much as in Sweden, where run-off and rivers are far from the cultivated areas.
