Alternative Nursery Rhymes

A few alternative nursery rhymes for Janus… but written a while back , so probably don’t count for the competition!

Lottery

There was a crooked man,
who walked a crooked mile,
he found a crooked pound coin,
upon a crooked stile,

he bought a crooked lotto ticket,
and won a crooked prize,
and went abroad to sunny Spain,
which was very, very wise.

This little piggy

This little piggy went to Margate,
this little piggy went to Rome,
this little piggy visited the barrier reef,
and this little piggy sucked the bone,
and this little piggy chased the big bad wolf,
woof, woof, woof,
all the way home.

Monday’s Child

Monday’s Child is full of face,
Tuesday’s child is a pure disgrace,
Wednesday’s child is full of anger,
Thursday’s child full of hunger,
Friday’s child is terribly slow,
Saturday’s child is a thief you know,
but the child that is born on the Sabbath day,
just always, wants everything
to go her way.

There’s a hole…

There’s a hole in the ozone,
dear Lisa, dear Lisa,
there’s a hole in the ozone, dear Lisa,
a hole.

Then patch it dear Henry,
dear Henry, dear Henry,
then patch it dear Henry, dear Henry
patch it.

With what shall I patch it?
dear Lisa, dear Lisa, dear Lisa,
with what shall I patch it dear Lisa,
with what?

Ask Cameron dear Henry,
dear Henry, dear Henry,
Ask Cameron dear Henry,
ask him….

But he hasn’t a clue dear,
a clue dear, a clue dear,
but he hasn’t a clue dear, a clue dear,
not a clue.

No time to lose. No, time to lose. Make time to stand and stare.... Did you see that?

  1. If taken literally, and I do mean if, I can’t say I’m overly impressed with the ‘This Little Piggy’ adaptation. 🙂
