I thought that the above map, copied from Friday’s Le Figaro, gives cause for thought at this time of year, as we Europeans freely celebrate, or not, the Christmas festival. Those chaps over in The States responsible for intercepting missiles and such like are currently tracking Santa’s progress. They apparently detect the heat from Rudolph’s nose and using their technology can track him around the globe!
Santa is currently in Hanoi (Vietnam, do they even celebrate Christmas ??) and on his way to Lhasa, China (do they celebrate??) who cares? not me!
If you have the children or grandchildren with you (or even want to have a peek yourself) here’s the live web page. Go and have a look at Santa’s progress!

“A detective constable from the Upington stock theft unit appeared in the Upington Magistrate’s Court on Friday after allegedly trying to get two sheep from a suspected stock thief, Northern Cape police said.
He was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly demanded two sheep from a suspected stock thief, which he wanted “for the festive period”, in exchange for not arresting the man.
The man contacted the unit’s commander, and co-operated with police in setting up a meeting with the constable, at which the sheep were handed over and the constable was then arrested.”
If that wasn’t funny enough here’s the second item in the bulletin;-
