We have got tickets to both the Main Olympics and the Paralympics, but I am not sure the events will be as exciting as described in my pome! 🙂

The world gone mad
I see today that an economically illiterate, inarticulate goon with the communication skills of a baboon has been made UN Special Envoy for Global Education.

Wavy Davy’s Navy
I saw this on the Dark Side today. Just about sums up GB 2012:
A vision of the Cameron Navy!
The Royal Navy is proud of its new fleet of Type 45 destroyers. Having initially named the first two ships HMS Daring and HMS Dauntless, the Naming Committee has, after intensive pressure from Brussels, renamed them HMS Cautious and HMS Prudence. The next five ships are to be named HMS Empathy, HMS Circumspect, HMS Nervous, HMS Timorous and HMS Apologist.

I saw this slogan, or something very like it, on a T shirt recently. It seems to sum up the state of the UK and, possibly, the USA at the moment:-

Once, when Michael Faraday was asked by a politician, “But of what use is your electricity?”, he replied , “Why, sir, one day you will be able to tax it!”. I think the same might apply here.

You can read more about it here.
Folk Music
Normally, listening to folk music of any sort makes me want to tear whatever remains of my hair out or bang my head against the wall, but this is something else…….
