Margrethe Vestager, the crusading EU Commssioner, seems to have inspired her countryfolk to go after tax evaders at home. And how!
The tax minister is buying extracts from the Panama Papers which name and shame over 600 Danes who have been squirrelling away their kroner and cheating the system.
Typically of Denmark this is being done quite openly – not, as one might expect in other countries, through secret channels. Refreshing, huh?
Interesting but how come all these govts never want to persecute companies not paying their share? Always seems to be going for the individual. Easier meat?
I’m afraid ‘friends in high places’ might have something to do with it.
I suspect you are right.
That is one of the big problems with Clinton too. In hock to Wall Street.
I never cease to be amazed that our elected representatives find the time to enact tax legislation for us lesser mortals, or any legislation at all for that matter, what with fiddling expenses, diddling rent boys, flogging favours and snorting lines of coke. Bless ’em every one.

Ain’t that the truth and so succinctly put! Love it!
