It’s quite extraordinary, Nym, but although we live fairly close, my garden is always behind yours. My tulips are still buried beneath the snow and quite invisible, and no buds on the roses although we do have late blooms which look a little sad at the moment.
the roses have continued flowering through the winter.. they are against a wall. And the tulips are in a tub by my front door. It is strange how different each area is.
Difference in elevation?
The answer, my friends, is blowing in the wind…… The location without draught is the best!
My back garden is often behind a lot of other gardens locally, noticeable particularly with the time my delphiniums come out. Open and exposed to wind…..
