I have no idea who changed the name but I still refer to them as the Police Force.
They seem to be a bit behind the curve at the moment, though. They are between a rock and a hard place and if they take a tough stance they are accused of brutality and if they don’t they are don’t doing their job in protecting lives and property.
The reasons for the apparent dichotomy are reasonably straightforward, Araminta, and are primarily to be laid at the feet of the now politicised and vastly overpaid members of the ACPO.
To go further into this would take a complete post of its own.
