Sainsbury’s Loss
I’m lost without my list;
I’m a bit miffed –
in fact I’m cut adrift.
I must’ve left it on the shelf
or dropped it in the lift
in my haste, perhaps
at the end of my shift ?
Now I find it’s lost it’s
sorely missed. I’m bereft.
It’s no use to anyone else
as it sits unread
if you get my gist.
I shake my fist at this stroke of fate.
It wasn’t vast, this list
but I shall now have to guess
as to who and what
was noted on it.
A guest, a gift, a game of whist?
Bread for toast, a card with a joke?
I must act fast and reproduce the list
and when I have and then
when I’ve done the shopping
what’s the betting
I’ll find the thing
all alone, sitting at home
where I left it, by the phone?
When you got home
and found your list
next to the phone
how many items had you missed?
More important, as you unpacked
did you compare?
Had you purchased
goods that weren’t even there?
🙂
🙂
Very amusing Pseu
And very amusing Soutie too.
Soutie_ he’s a poet and until recently we didn’t know it
A list is good form
But is it the norm?
Just buy what you will,
And possibly chill.
What you forget,
Do not fret,
It’s not a big deal,
It’s just one more meal.
Oh, dear, but I tried, Nym. 🙂
You did, Ara, and thank you 🙂
Not all lists are desirable as others!
