  1. I haven’t had time to look, but I’m sure you beat me hands down anyway. I’ve been out looking at computers, now I’m really confused. The chap in Currys has given me a demo on one I’ve got my eye on, I wish he hadn’t, I want it now. I’m waiting to take my computer wizz kid with me. It’s one of these new ‘All in one’ jobs, touch screen as well as a mouse and keyboard. 22 inch HD screen, the graphics are fantastic, it would be perfect for my photos. You can touch the screen and enlarge or make smaller with your fingers; it’s one hell of good machine, oh boy, am I tempted.

  2. Good luck! Mine was built for me to suit my condition – touch screens are out, but I have an all-singing all-dancing electric mouse and the mighty Dragon voice kit which works well. It’s not worth skimping, make sure that what you get suits your needs.

  3. It’s not cheap of course, they have them on offer, this one starts out £899.99, they have it on as £649.99, saving £250.00. Still more than I want to pay, but it’s a great machine; we’ll see.
if you want to have a look it’s an HP TouchSmart 300-111uk. There are quite a few, some cheaper, with smaller screens etc.

  4. I always do the crossword in stages, and find that easier. It is amazing how, on coming back to it, the previously obscure becomes obvious.

Hi, valzone. I’ve had a look and it’s seriously sexy. But newish in the home punter market and that should always be a slight worry, in my opinion. If there are problems, you will be one of those who has them. The rest of us can wait, comfortable in the knowledge that, when we do buy in, it will be a lot cheaper and a lot more stable. Could be wrong and if you truly feel the need, then Laskys seems to be the cheapest option tonight:-

Still think you could spend the same money or less and get a lot more value. But then I’m a Jock and never really happy, to be fair.

  6. Hi John, my son feels the same as you, he says to wait until it’s been around a while and the reports come out; he also said ” do you really need all that stuff it has?” Yes, of course I do 🙂 If money was no object, it wouldn’t matter, but in truth, it does matter. I’ll keep thinking.
I’ll have a look at that site John, than you very much.

  7. Touch screen, all sounds good.

But perhaps seek medical advice first.

Touch screen means you are nearer screen, not good for eyes. also touch screen is not good for posture as you have to keep leaning forward to touch the screen.

Both okay for short periods of time, but prolonged use? I wonder.

Finally Curry’s PC world Comet are all sales people who do not know or understand PC’s , the people in them lie to get a sale. A recent survey showed all these stores to be really dishonest in their tactics. The survey said for honesty go to a small store or John Lewis, get the truth then hunt out the bargain.

  8. oops should have commented on Zen’s blog. rarely look at the Sunday crossword so no idea. Yesterdays less than 40 mins but never got 3 down.

  9. Good morning folks, gosh it’s not 7am yet and I’m up. Rick you are right, I had a word with my GP pals last night, both say it’s a fantastic gimmick. All excellent, but not without it’s potential personal problems. As I already have a back problem, and at this moment shoulder and arm problem, it might be best to re-think.
Sorry Zen, I seem to have hijacked your crossword blog, slap bottom for me.
