Canada growing some balls!

Curious bit of news overnight on the radio.  Didn’t hear it all, but what I heard went thus-

Some Somalian refugee, or at least his parents were refugees who washed up in Edmonton I believe, who was born in Canada, is to be deported!  Evidently he was a criminal, done time for a nasty violent crime and when released had his nationality revoked and is to be returned to Somalia.  Evidently he has never been there and is not fluent, or so his parents say.  Evidently he is on the run at the moment from the authorities who are intent on removing him back to said Somalia!

Quite extraordinary considering how bleeding heart liberal PC the bloody place has been for years.  Now it seems the worm turns with a vengeance, they are evidently sick to the back teeth of immigrant wogs committing crimes out of all proportion to their numbers in the country.  Remind you of anywhere else?

Great pity the UK does not take a leaf out of the same book!  Why are we constantly beset by ‘yuman rights’ and prissy Canada is about to get away with this?  Note the USA has been doing this for years, plus the Australians are sensible enough to not let them within a thousand miles of the mainland in the first place!

What a pack of fools govern the UK .  I shall have to revise my opinions of Canada if they actually have the guts to go through with this.

Ice

Looking out over my balcony the snow that fell Thursday has turned into a block of ice. Cars that were not moved have been frozen in place, the neighbours resorting to salt to get their vehicles out. With any luck they can open their doors. Most have icicles hanging all around. It was cold yesterday that when I opened my door to step out on my balcony I didn’t even bother to complete the task — I promptly shut the door and sat by the fireplace and drank another coffee. Sometimes it’s not even worth trying…

That considered, I do have hope for a life in a place with better weather. I have received job leads for permanent positions in New South Wales. Should I receive a formal offer upon completion of my MA programme I will be on the next flight to Sydney.

Ecstasy

He was in ecstasy with a huge smile on his face as his wife moved forwards, then backwards, forward, then backwards again….back and forth…back and forth…

in and out…in and out.

Her heart was pounding…her face was flushed…then she moaned, softly at first, then began to groan louder. Finally, totally exhausted, she let out an almighty scream and shouted, Continue reading “Ecstasy”

‘Tis the Season.

Well it is here, it’s Thanksgiving and I thought it might round out the feast to have some local oysters, enough for a few raw and a few fritters and enough to make some oyster stuffing for the turkey tomorrow.    We are seating twelve.

So yesterday afternoon my neighbour and I set off down to the local dock, (about three miles) and waited for the oyster boats to come in. There was no shortage of choice, a couple of the boats were loaded with oysters to the point of foundering.  30 minutes later we had two bushels of fine bay oysters split between three large coolers and were back home in the small shed making sure they passed our rigid quality standard, two dozen or so later they were judged plenty adequate and have been iced down awaiting a major shuck in the morning.

One of the few big advantages of living in the wilderness, guaranteed off-the-boat fresh oysters for $50 per bushel (about $0.30 each).

Spot the common denominator.

A small group of incompetent civil servants totally screw up the west coast mainline bidding process. Cost of compensating the bidding firms estimated at £40M. Do those responsible pay or does the tax payer.

A few editors and newshounds, ultimately traceable, air a program outing an old man as a rampant kiddy fiddler without actually checking any of the facts. The Beeb is to be taken to court. Do those responsible pay or the licence fee payer.

A greedy shameless so called peer of the realm runs up extravagant official credit card bills of £286,000. Is he being taken to task or are they dropping the investigation and writing the debt off at the expense of the tax payer?

An MP decides she can better serve her constituents by getting her ugly mug on a jungle reality game show. She is going to pocket the ITV payment (minimum £10,000) but has pledged to give her MP wages for the 3 weeks to charity. Does the arrogant witch get to choose what to do with the public money or should payment be witheld and used by the penniless public purse?

A self absorbed MP discovers that by lying about which of her 3 properties is her second home, she can get 10s of 1000s of our cash to do up her beachhouse. When taken to task she claims to be mentally ill and unable to face trial. Will the tax payer ever see that money again?

I could go on but I think there is enough to establish a thread. Grrrrrr
