Dear fellow Charioteers,
Apologies for the absence this past week, especially for Bearsy’s birthday post, but I have been somewhat preoccupied.
The downside of winning a Chariot competition is the duty to set the next one and I have been hunting frantically for inspiration since Low Wattage lobbed the poisoned chalice in my direction yesterday.
In recent weeks I have increasingly been using the ‘Like’ button on the posts of other Charioteers. Personally, I do so in order to indicate to the author that whereas I may not have anything constructive or informative to add to the particular subject matter, which is usual, I have at least read and appreciated their contribution.
Is this right, or is it otherwise viewed as cocking a metaphorical hind leg against the post indicating that the ‘Liker’ can’t be bothered to compose a proper comment in response?

In the barren branches of surrounding trees a lone rook cawed mournfully as the sombre, black-clad congregation exited the crematorium, turning coat collars up against the cold, adjusting scarves and pulling on gloves.
I was intrigued but somewhat disturbed to find that most Charioteers thought that the best way to a Wolf’s heart (and vote) was through his stomach.
Whatever gave you that impression?
Some of you were intrigued last year as to the fate of the lovely Sarah.
This is her story.

seems to have veered off like an errant Vauxhall Victor into a discussion of what we were driving back in the day. Please have a look at OMG’s post to get the flavour and then I’d like to know a) what you were driviing then and b) what you’re driving now, as I’m wondering if the flair, style and romance has gone out of motoring, or, if as Bearsy says, nostalgia isn’t what it used to be.
