A coup, per chance?

I decided on my way back from work today to launch a coup. No, not a coup d’état or even a chicken coup. This is a photo contest coup. As our cherished lupine colleague is otherwise pre-occupied for all the best reasons, I have gathered some Dutch courage and propose serving as a judge for a photo contest.

The revolutionary photo contest committee has elected to propose a topic of aesthetically pleasing buildings. Large or small, old or new — so long as the photographer finds the building attractive, it counts. The deadline is 4 March at midnight, GMT.

  1. Good morning Gazoopi.

You can either simply create a post with the picture and a few words of explanation and put a link to your page in these comments or follow the excellent instructions written at the top of the page ~ “Images” then “Images in comments” and post it directly here.

  2. gazoopi :

If it is not a daft question how does one submit the photograph?

Please refer to the sayings of Chairman Bearsy atop the page: ‘images’, etc. 🙂

A great exercise methinks. It’ll show Gazoopi that if he has trouble posting a picture one of us will sort it out for him 😉

  4. Soutie: thank you for your support.

Gazoopi: there is no shame in requiring assistance. I need help every single time. I enter something.

Janus: thank you for your entry!

Well, here goes. I assume that to be able to load a picture I need to be raised to author. Is that right?

    Gaz, just do it, please!

….I followed the instructions but it didn’t work, so I just posted the link.

    Commiserations – that’s what i do too! 🙂

  8. If you are not an author, then you cannot post images in comments. It’s not possible on my WordPress site, so it’s probably the same here. Can someone perhaps make Gaz an author, then he can post his own entries?

  9. Janus, the original shed (top left) is 15 years old and two bays wide. The recent improvement makes it four bays wide (lower right) and adds lots of room for more junk.

  10. Here you go Christopher, one from me.

You did say as long as the photographer finds it aesthetically pleasing?

Our new stadium, often likened to a sunflower, an oasis in a province which had suffered a drought of international sport, not any more I’m pleased to say.

  11. Thank you, Gazoopi, LW and Soutie! Your entries are appreciated.

Soutie: beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the camera is in the hands of the beholder!

Tomorrow evening, California time, I will announce the winner of the contest.

  12. Hi Janus, re your #27. Thank you. It’s portrait by Sir Frank Dicksee, a depiction of Miranda from “The Tempest”.
