The sea, the sea

Living in Oxfordshire as I do, I don’t often see the sea, but as it happens, here I am, up on the Wirral with a borrowed camera – and yesterday I had the opportunity to visit West Kirby where the usually calm marine lake has been spewing sea weed up onto the prom railings.

????????????And the waves were wetting the pavement… they had closed the road.

????????????I nearly got soaked at one point….

????????????

????????????Later we went to Hoylake and saw a huge flock of birds, largely terns I think, skimming the waves and gathering on the beach as the sea was receding.

????????????Fantastic!

No time to lose. No, time to lose. Make time to stand and stare.... Did you see that?

  1. Nice pictures Pseu. Rather a long wait for Father Christmas to bring you a new camera now, though! 🙂

  2. It is currently at the menders, Ara, and I’m waiting for a quote about repairs costs… keep your fingers crossed!

Yes, if I want a new camera, FEEG I shall not be waiting until December… I shall squirrel away a little money and get one myself. Otherwise there won’t be the annual Pseu Calendar available in early December 2014

  3. Does this in Neyland regularly, comes in and out with the high tides over the roads bordering the Sound plus all the smelly weed, evil when it rots.
I vaguely remember you buying that camera, doesn’t seem to have lasted five minutes, unless it was a different one? Can’t be more than 2./3 years surely?

  4. Akshully, Nym, I thought modern cameras were like modern cars – all computer-controlled and irreparable in the old sense of the word ‘repair’. Don’t you have to get a new chip or wha’ever? 🙂

  5. At least three years with nearly daily use… at the menders now. Hopefully something simple to rectify!
