I know you lot are quite a bit older than me so this generation’s offering might not be for you. The Neutron bomb, although old enough to be our big sister, did it for us. Grease is the word.
Summer Caving
Summer caving, had us a whack
Summer caving, me, Debbie and Jack Black
We got fed up with the beach
So we went somewhere out of reach
Summer caving, in the depths
To, uh oh, those summer caves
Well-a, well-a, well-a, uh!
Tell me more, tell me more
Did you get very far?
Tell me more, tell me more
How good is the acoustics for a guitar?
Ship-a-ba, ship-a- ba, ship-a-ba-baaaaaa
We were in floods, we got crabs
We crawled through holes, hurting our a-a-abs
We battled through Guano and ducked stalactites
Debbie laddered her tights on the stalagmites
Summer cave, oh what a rave
But, uh oh, those summer caves
Well-a, well-a, well-a, uh!
Tell me more, tell me more
Was it exciting to explore
Tell me more, tell me more
Cause it sounds like a bore
doobie-doobie-do do,do do,do do,do
Scooby-doobie doooooooo
It got cold, it ends in dejection
Jack got a cave dust infection
We swore we’d never go back
He is now called One-eyed Jack Black
Summer caves seem like a dream
But, oh, those summer caves
Aye right, pal!
Most enjoyable but I think you will find that ONJ is mature enough to be an older woman for more than just a couple of Charioteers. 1948 was apparently a good year but I wasn’t there to experience that myself..
Janus, I’m thinking about ‘Summertime’ and I’ll try to enter something by Sunday night. .
Glad to see you know young Olivia’s pet name amongst the mature cognoscenti. 🙂
But did you know that even younger Travolta is an honorary Ambassador-at-large for Qantas, flies his own ex-Qantas 707 and is ticketed for 747-400s?
Ha ha does it show? 🙂
I thought that I’d share a birthday present which a received a couple of years back. I walked into a pub we were meeting at prior to heading off to some match or other, as I walked in, my mates were already at a table and there waiting for me on the table was a pint, when I lifted the pint up, this beer mat / coaster was underneath 🙂
Perhaps there’s a few more candidates for membership here!
… 🙂 …
Thank you, JW! This promises to be a vintage crop.
JM,
Coincidentally, I have just finished reading “Summer Lightning”. I’m scunnnered not to have discovered PGW earlier. Shame on you and Sipu for keeping him to yourselves.
Bearsy,
I did know JT is a pilot but if you’d asked me to identify the type of cylindrical tube he has, forget it. Planes are like flowers aren’t they? They’re all the same.
Yes, it does show, S-man. Sometimes when I log in it feels as if I’ve wandered on to the set of the Last of the Summer Wine. 🙂
Great fun, TR. 🙂
I might be old, decrepit and grey, but the Enhanced Radiation Weapon did it for me all those years ago!
Now then, JW! The “Last of the Summer Wine” is the finest, the most delectable, the most intoxicating you can find. Backside says so.
RE: LOTSW, J-man. It must have been my misfortune to have watched the duff episodes of the said series.
Nora Batty was an icon. 🙂
Other than JW and I you were the latest to comment on the Chariot – Friday evening!
You’re mixing your Dubyas up, J-man but I know what you mean. The commentators are on strike. My excuse is that weekends are for football.
I thought Pearl had better legs than Marina.
Apologies to both Dubyas. 😦
