She wouldn’t sleep as a baby, boy did she keep me up at nights. I would always do the late night / early morning stint and you can imagine my joy when she dozed off.
Peace and quiet, tranquility, a moments rest, call it what you will but this picture on the left perhaps depicts my feelings best.
It’s hard to believe that she’s now in her twenties, was it really that long ago?
And that’s what I want from you, cherished colleagues, a picture that perhaps describes tranquility in your life.
It can be a special place in the garden, a room, a chair, a holiday destination or as in my case a ‘special occasion.’ (even a ‘rare moment’ perhaps ;))
As usual I’ll accept multiple entries from participants.
Closing date Saturday June 22nd, any time zone, anywhere in the world, I’ll do the judging on Sunday, have fun and good luck!
Aren’t they wonderful when they are asleep?
It always staggered me that they made it through till the next day, without having become a victim of infanticide, the boy was positively hell on wheels until bathtime and then over and out for 8 hours.
Only thing that kept him alive!
So precious! ๐
Hi Soutie, mine wouldn’t sleep at that age either. And I still can’t sleep for worry when they are out at night with friends.
When the kids were young I loved all the assorted bibs they had. Is that a Fred Flintstone bib I see?
Bless, Soutie! ๐
Ha ha morning all, pleased that you enjoyed my “rare moment”
As to the bib? Definitely not Freddy, (and I’ve sought expert advice on this ;)) gonna have a bit of a search through the family albums and see if it’s on any other pics, failing that it might remain one of life’s unsolved mysteries!
Oh no, not a bib mystery.
Here’s one: https://charioteers.org/2013/05/28/tranquility/
One from me, with my somewhat twisted sense of humour to the fore! ๐

This is my garden gnome: she is the epitome of tranquillity. She never moves, and never complains.
Point of order, Arrers: are there such things as female gnomes? Isn’t she a fairy or angel, footless and fancy-free? ๐
So where do baby gnomes come from?
Found this on the โall you need to gnow about gnomesโ website. (Garden Gnomes .com)
More like Miss Piggy plays Snow White! ๐
Janus, re female gnomes, I think Soutie has provided evidence that they do exist. ๐
Another one and apologies it has been seen before, but the Upper Thames by boat is very tranquil.
