You really have to see it in the flesh, so to speak, but Piper’s baptistry window in Coventry’s ‘new’ cathedral is a riot of colour and entirely in keeping with its environment.

Môre Janus, Ive corrected the image proportions for you, hope it’s correct 😉
Thanks, Soutie! I’m into correctness these days. 🙂
So I’ve noticed 😉
Soutie, Backside’s safely locked in a padded room with his 12 Olympic channels for company. He has just shouted that architecture is a fashion with no rules except what investors will pay for. ‘Twas ever thus.
That looks absolutely fantastic.
Worth a visit sometime, Boa. (The traditionalists don’t like new church buildings. 😦 )
The grandly named Metropolitan Catherdral of Christ the King in Liverpool, known affectionately to all Scousers as Paddy’s Wigwam, gives good stained glass too.
Linkey thing

I’m a traditionalist, Janus, but that window is beautiful. I’d like to see close-ups of the panels, but I have a feeling it might spoil it for me.
I’m not a great fan of modern churches, but I must admit this window looks wonderful.
Bilbers, I doubt it. 🙂
You doubt I’m a traditionalist, Janus? 😉
OK, I’ll just have to find some close-ups myself I suppose … tomorrow ( I’m watching the swimming).
No, no, no, Bilbers! I meant doubt you’ll be disappointed!
Here’s a link with afew close-ups. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=piper+stained+glass+windows+pics&hl=da&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=0jAWUK63HaiM4gSf5oAY&ved=0CFEQsAQ&biw=1173&bih=599
I know, Janus, hence the winky thing. 🙂 Thanks for the link, Possum.
You’re right, I’m not disappointed. I love them. Absolutely stunning! 🙂
