A couple of things made me laugh today. The first this news item from South Africa:-
“Sheryl Cwele, the wife of South Africa’s intelligence minister, has been sentenced to 12 years in jail for drug trafficking.”
“Opposition parties have called for Mr Cwele to step down, arguing that if he is not aware of his wife’s illegal activities, he should no longer be in charge of the country’s intelligence-gathering.” 🙂
The other, was whilst walking the dogs in the park, I met a guy with one of these cradled in his arms. He was feeding it dandelion leaves I think. Good job the dogs didn’t spot it. 🙂

WTF is it, Toc?
It was a freaking huge lizard. It must have been well over two feet in length. He was cradling like a baby. That was the best pic that I could find. Definitely the same sort.
Looks prehistoric!
Looks like an Iguana.
They are good on the barby I understand.
Ferret if you are having a barby with giant lizard on the menu I’ll come just to try it.
Me too. The country roads of West Africa are lined with blokes and boys waving big, dead lizards at you, not to mention small furry things and larger antelopes such as dik-dik. Similar in size and shape to a goanna, the former are very tasty grilled on an open wood fire, but don’t forget to bring some garlic. The small furry things and antelopes were very tasty as well.
OZ
OZ,
Ever been to Nigeria?
Yup.
OZ
Hee hee Toc
We get keech like this everyday, I could fill your inbox for you if you wanted 😉
Iguana! Blimey.
Soutie,
It was the second highlighted paragraph that made me laugh.
OZ,
I lived in Lagos in the mid 50’s early 60’s. It was a great place to be in those far off days.
Toc, back to the first point – very humerous and almost unbelievable – to get to the top of an intelligence organisation he’d have many keys to others’ cupbaords containing skeletons and will probably get the equivalent of a knighthood if it is anything like the UK!
🙂
