I have never heard this song, which album is it from?
Big Day Out
Hmmm, I have heard the album, I must have forgotten the song, thank you.
I keep finding ‘unheards’ as I trawl around. I’ve just struck new seam!
This used to be my most favorite song in the 70’s, don’t know why since I only like Rock & Roll but somehow even today I still like it
Nice one, John Denverish.
Oh, yeah, I used to like him too, it was a shame he never learn to land a plane 😦
Too stubborn, his father tried to teach him!
No, not really, his dad, a bomber pilot, did a wonderful job of teaching John how to be a “bomb”, he hit the ground with a vengeance. They say he was singing “Thank God I’m a Country Bomb” just before he crashed. 🙂
Summer Breeze always reminds me of my army days. We were based up in a place called Silver Streams in the Eastern Highlands of Rhodesia. Summer Breeze became, with a bit of mangling, Silver Streams. I recall that I got into a minor fracas with one Bruce Grobbelar (ex Liverpool goalie) while we were there.
I am also reminded of a song that one of the chaps used to sing. I think it was by Billy Connolly. It involved an FBI agent trying to seduce a woman on a train.
It had the chorus
“No need to panic no need to cry
I am an undercover agent working for the FBI”
The punch line was
“If you’re with the FBI, I guess that’s OK
My name is Fritz
These ain’t real tits
And I’m with the CIA”

More of a splash really Donald.
“On October 12, 1997, Denver was killed when his Experimental Rutan Long-EZ plane, aircraft registration number N555JD, crashed into the Pacific Ocean near Pacific Grove, California.”
Back then, My most favorite of all (gulp) was …… 😦
I’ll be back to him in a couple of weeks. Meanwhile –
Tocino #12 – He always misunderstood his father, he kept telling him “Bomb, son Bomb!, not torpedo” 🙂
He should have kept to country roads.
They say that at the height of his career, Neil Diamond was the most recognizable Jew since Jesus, as a matter of fact it’s hard to tell which of the two had the most songs written for them. 🙂
Morning Mr Zen, as usual, a good one from the our favourite lads.

Wish I could find the original.

Or at least left in a jet plane 🙂
Donald, that was some performance at Glastonbury!
Yes, he still had the vocal tones even after all those years, his voice never changed and he showed the same stamina he had as a young man.
Or simply remained in his grandmother’s feather bed.
He’d most probably had fallen of it and broken his neck! it was too “Rocky Mountain High” 🙂
Meanwhile Annie sang on.
