  1. This used to be my most favorite song in the 70’s, don’t know why since I only like Rock & Roll but somehow even today I still like it

  2. No, not really, his dad, a bomber pilot, did a wonderful job of teaching John how to be a “bomb”, he hit the ground with a vengeance. They say he was singing “Thank God I’m a Country Bomb” just before he crashed. 🙂

  3. Summer Breeze always reminds me of my army days. We were based up in a place called Silver Streams in the Eastern Highlands of Rhodesia. Summer Breeze became, with a bit of mangling, Silver Streams. I recall that I got into a minor fracas with one Bruce Grobbelar (ex Liverpool goalie) while we were there.

I am also reminded of a song that one of the chaps used to sing. I think it was by Billy Connolly. It involved an FBI agent trying to seduce a woman on a train.

    It had the chorus
“No need to panic no need to cry
I am an undercover agent working for the FBI”

    The punch line was
“If you’re with the FBI, I guess that’s OK
    My name is Fritz
    These ain’t real tits
    And I’m with the CIA”

Wish I could find the original.

More of a splash really Donald.

“On October 12, 1997, Denver was killed when his Experimental Rutan Long-EZ plane, aircraft registration number N555JD, crashed into the Pacific Ocean near Pacific Grove, California.”

  5. They say that at the height of his career, Neil Diamond was the most recognizable Jew since Jesus, as a matter of fact it’s hard to tell which of the two had the most songs written for them. 🙂

  6. Yes, he still had the vocal tones even after all those years, his voice never changed and he showed the same stamina he had as a young man.
