Of course Mr Zen, you must know that there is a Tull for that. 🙂
Sacrilege, Furry One!
🙂
Good morning Mr Zen, Bloody good choice, love it.
Ferret..ttttttttt 🙂
Mmm, lovely…
Not exactly in keeping with opera theme, but I love Mendelssohn’s Lieder ohne Worte (songs without words). They really are so beautiful. Here is my absolute favourite one:
Shall I crawl under a stone now? I prefer Ferret’s offering 😦
Eye-tie noise and lots of shouting at each other QED. 😉
Sad, Boa and Sqeaky, you have to work on it. Instant gratification, it is not!
Exsqueeze me Mr Zen.
Ferrets do not squeak, we chook. 😦
Zen
I appreciate that ‘there is no gain without pain’, however I do wonder whether, in this case, the ‘pain is worth the gain’!
Eric Clapton: Rock and Roll Heart
Zen – no probs luv. That’s my absolute fave to play as well. Most Mendelssohn has lots of octaves and wide arpeggios, and so requires large hands, but that one is within my reach!
Boa – I can understand where you’re coming from. I was trained in classical music from an early age, but didn’t really ‘get it’ at all until I was a teenager. Then, I used to go through obsessions with pieces and eras – Baroque, early etc – and then just totally discard them. Right now,I hardly listen to it at all, because it’s like steam; gets inside and opens everything up…
My point is, that I think we know instinctively what music is right for us at certain times, in the same way as friends. So I think you should remain unapologetic and proud of liking the stuff that you do; it points to self knowledge and confidence in my opinion.
I like these online extracts though Zen. They’re enough to keep me ticking over without being overwhelming!

Boa, it is, believe me.
