Interesting but quite absurd situation Elsewhere. The Spammers seem to be winning, despite emails and entreaties; Blog Central seems unable to deal with the problem.
Meanwhile, it would appear that a certain band of happy bloggers are clubbing together to report those with whom they have certain differences of opinion. You have been banned, they cry with gay abandon, but do not seem to be aware of the exquisite irony involved here. Priceless, since some of them have had numerous accounts deleted. But that of course is different!
You really could not make it up.

I took one look at the front page and did one, to coin a phrase. 90 per cent pharmacy advertising and 10 per cent slanging over where to sling the terrorists! What a lovely set of possibilities…

My three year old has taken the scissors to his hair tonight and my daughter has crapped all over the stairs. And the spammers have taken over myT! Agh!

Indeed Toc: thank goodness we don’t have the same sort of problems here.
It is actually quite serious; if you look on the People Page, which I rarely do, there are hundreds of spammers listed. So much for the anti-spam precautions!
I tried to put up a few short and jokey posts to try and move the spam off the homepage of You Know Where, Araminta, but the whole thing seems frozen.
Claire, I appreciate you’re having a difficult evening, but I don’t appreciate my comments on MyT being referred to as “slanging”. You’d have to define that word first and probably find it is inappropriate.
Hello Sheona: nothing seems to be moving at all. It makes the whole thing quite unworkable. I’ve been away from my PC; but nothing seems to have changed since I wrote this post.
No one seems to be in the slightest bit interested in sorting it out.
Sheona; it wasn’t aimed at you or your comments. It was just an off the cuff remark after seeing some of the more vitriolic comments.
But hey; apologies for offending. I seem to be doing a lot of it lately.
I seldom run into the spammers on the Site that Must Not Be Named. My bookmark for the site goes directly to the creative writing page of the site. Voilà! No spam.

Hee Hee. Remember the spam fritters in the mess? Little disks of processed pink stuff, dunked in batter then deep fried to near oblivion. If you pressed down on one with the back of your fork, you could see the oil fountain up between the prongs. Happy Days.

Those of a certain taint on MyT have taken to policing of their own I see. The latest being an attack on one of the only two regular bloggers left about posting 3 at a time. The issue apparently, was about other earnest and more factual bloggers being pushed off the front page. The facts of the matter were that the only casualties of the triple crime were two spammers and a 12 hour old rant about muslims. Go figure.

There’s a competition?
It’s not just Marya who keeps me going back there. Adam G is a very good blogger, then there’s Sabina, Plum Tart, Attila, Rosie (Sorry Minty MBE), Nobby, Jamie McN, Squarepeg, Fayewray and probably a few others who do not spring to mind immediately. It’s sad but what can be done?
Morning Furry: I don’t have a problem with anyone on your list. Rosie has a problem with me, but how unusual, not! My feeling is she has swallowed the party line; like certain other members of the Dirty Tricks Department. She seemed quite normal until they got hold of her.
Big houses without landlords always go into decline……and fall.
I enjoy creative writing there. There’s nowhere else where I could go to discuss music and writing/poetry to such lengths as on MyT and this site…so I would be very sorry to see MyT go.
So would I Claire, but it just gets worse.
