Please, Bearsy… can you explain?

“I added this without asking for anyone’s permission! Wait for the complaints!”

What have you added?

Yes, yes, I’m an arts graduate. I know. Just tell me please!

I like animals, colour, the Thames, reading, cooking, writing, eating, walking. I don't like bullies, butchers' shops, crowded public transport, Nigel Farage.

  1. Honestly, Isobel, it this sort of thing that gives us arts graduates a bad name! 🙂

It is the little gizmo at the top right of the page labelled RSS feed. Not very sinister, but I wouldn’t press it if I were you!

  2. To save you waiting for Bearsy, I believe the words in question appeared with ‘Blog Stats (Summary) – some time ago though. :8

  3. I thought I posted here. Must have forgotten to click. What is an RSS feed? I would be happy to delete this post if I knew. But I can’t find the post you refer to Janus and I am already feeling guilty about being heer when I only came online to check out some work stuff.

  4. The RSS Feed thingy has been there ever since we changed to this template. It cannot be removed. Ignore it.

The hits summary has been there for yonks, although Janus is correct to mention that it changed its title a couple of weeks ago.

What I have added is a section of text which says –

“I added this without asking for anyone’s permission! Wait for the complaints!”

It is a joke. An Australian way of extracting the Michael from those who complained loud and volubly that they hadn’t been consulted about the Flag Counter. My apologies for the failures in your senses of humour.

    Tee hee.
    Giggle.
    😆

  5. Actually, has the flag counter been junked? I quite liked coming from Kington, Oxon. It’s where all the TV scriptwriters live. Nice pub and station convenient for going to London for meetings and such.

  6. Janh1 – please see my “management message … ” post. There are some (strange) people who were highly indignant about the Flag Counter – they see it as an invasion of privacy. 😦

  7. I didn’t like it either, Bearsy, but I could hardly complain, draped as I was in my cloak of semi-invisibility. 😳

  8. Oh, I see Bearsy. Well the flag counter wasn’t very geographically specific so I don’t see nowt to worry about. Ooo I’ve gorn all northern. Aye-up our Claire.

Anyway, if you’re taking a vote, I vote to have it back. It was interesting to have some idea where everyone is. Makes people seem more real, which makes it all the more worthwhile.

Hi Isobel – I saw your message 🙂 V. droll. As a result I have shifted arse into gear and sorted web-page out. So thanks!

Bilby, your blushing is most becoming sweetie. 🙂

  9. Hi, Isobel

No, we haven’t had a chat for ages. I’m a bit unsettled at the moment and concentrating on other things; OK generally though. Thanks for asking. 🙂
