EU and Turkey

Some of you have noticed, I see many common with Mediterranean people and us. I get on quite well especially with Italians.

Some years ago, I came across to this animation.Ā  I don’t know if Italy is still as in the animation but I know Turkey is. šŸ™‚ Just change the Italian flag with Turkish in the animation.

  1. A policeman, brings four illegal immigrants to a travel agency for buying the tickets for deportation, in Germany. The immigrants buy the tickets. Just before they are leaving, the owner of the agency, gives 40 Marks to the the policeman. Puzzled the policeman asks, “what for?” The man replies, “you could have brought them somewhere else couldn’t you? You brought them here, consider it as thank”.
Then the policeman then starts to bring all immigrants to this particular agency, and receives 10 DM per capita. One day he comes with an nervous face and says “My boss is suspicous, what will I do?” The agency owner replies, with a grin “You have 10 DM, right? Give 5 to him”.

You can guess the nationality of the agency owner. Real story.

  2. Brilliant clip, very clever and very funny, ‘viva le difference’, sorry, don’t know the Italian equivalent.

  3. Actually, Levent, I’ve changed my mind. For purely selfish reasons, Turkey should join the EU. 1. it will shake the whole place up. 2. I need somewhere to live when I retire – Western Europe is a pain, Eastern Europe is OK, but a bit boring, 3. Cyprus is really boring… Mind, I like Italy too.

Of course, in the real world, you’d be far better off staying as you are.

  4. OMG,

Me neither. šŸ™‚ In Turkish “Yaşasın farklılık!” I guess.

    Bravo,

As I always say, life is never boring in Turkey as you won’t know what happens next. :)IF we ever get in, God forbid, I fear Europe will not be the same. šŸ˜€

Thanks, Soutie, I ‘m glad you enjoyed it.

  5. Levent, I’m coming to Turkey on business around the 19 – 23rd April. I’m managing security for a big conference to be held in Beldibi in Antalya.

  6. As long as Turkey refuses to give up its claims to N Cyprus, nothing will change.

  7. Bravo,

You have my mail adress. I’ll send you my mobile no, just in case.
Ferret said he’ll be in Side at the end of April.

    Janus,

The things in the animation will not change, even if we give up on Cyprus. šŸ™‚

  8. Yup Bravo,

I fly into Antalya on the 20th Apr. :O)

Whats the big meet that needs security? Anything I should be concerned about?

  9. Ferret, nope, big marketing conference, nothing to worry about. Security’s more to do with stopping any of our marketing people getting drunk and drowning. Or hauling them out of the clutches of the local fuzz, or whatever. Let’s see if we can hook up for a beer? Or a snifter or two of raki? Sure we can’t tempt you down, Levent?

  10. Would be great, but I don’t think I can make it, seems I’ll be busy april _ May. If I can I’ll let you know. Thank you.
