Today is World Autism Awareness Day.
My wife and friends are currently at a breakfast hosted by former Miss South Africa Cindy Nell with all proceeds coming to Autism Eastern Cape (that’s us!)
The breakfast is part of Cindy’s nationwide book launch, I saw a slogan from her somewhere ‘Beauty with a cause’, can’t fault that.
The breakfast received wonderful coverage from our local radio and press and is a sell out.
Our members and committee are there, promoting autism awareness, our association, the school and distributing our pamphlets.
There is also an auction of various kindly donated items, I of course magnanimously offered a bid for the ‘weekend away with Cindy’ or perhaps ‘dinner tonight.’ My wife couldn’t find those items on the programme 😦
