Flaunting – flouting, whose and who’s

Recently, I have twice seen examples of the same person confusing these two pairs of words. In a spirit of kindness I should like to point out to the person concerned, the error of their ways.

Private Space

Am I unusual in feeling somewhat aggrieved when, in a near empty bus, cinema or church, someone comes and sits alongside me?

This happened to me today in church and I moved, despite not wishing to appear rude. I did not know the man from Adam.

I would welcome any views that any of you might have on this. No comments will be edited. Not many, anyway.

It’s good to see Australia following the Old Country’s lead.

We elect a hung parliament and they follow suit. I never did buy all this about our two countries drifting apart.

Goldtrail Holidays

Yesterday I checked my emails and discovered that I was a victim of the collapse of Goldtrail Holidays.

This is the first time anything like this has happened to me. I always thought that this kind of misfortune only afflicted other people.

I booked the flight online through Airflights.co.uk, as I did last year to the same destination, and thought nothing of it when I heard about the failure of Goldtrail. Unfortunately Airflights used Goldtrail as their agents.

But all should be well and I am now booked on the same flight as before. All that now needs doing is to complete the hideously complicated claim form to be submitted to the CAA. This will most likely take all day.

I loathe all forms. They are the invention of the Evil One.
