Do not tell me that the latest ‘coldun’ to hit you is named after our esteemed colleague?
The weather has turned here. an arctic high fog burning off every day, am gardening as much as the lungs permit! Roses need pruning already. No rain anywhere down the whole cordillera, snow pack at an absolute minimum . Bad news for drought further south in the year. California will end up on standpipes and the veg will be a fortune, Central valley has no water for irrigation and very little likelihood of receiving much rain now.
CO: recently rains have been coming later and later to California. An actual drought has been averted because of late rainfall, but there is little in reserve. Me thinks Los Angeles must learn to live without its artificial riparian entertainments in short order.
To have a front named after (Am. for) one is clearly inadequate. What about the back?
Janus: “The front and the resulting deep depression was caused by the convergence of two LOWS”.
I’ll say no more.
Artificial riparian entertainments, what a splendid description!
