Vancouver is to ban doorknobs!
I declare, in the interests of ‘inclusivity’ new building codes will be amended to lever door openings only in case the old can’t twist the knob.
I’d like to twist their knobs!
I declare have these people nothing better to do than think up this kind of drivel? Is this really their most pressing problem? Are the locals to have their houses inspected for reactionary ageist door knobs in due course.
I wonder if the North Koreans could be bribed into nuking the cretins in the interests of giving them something to think about?
this really is true, not just a fevered aberration of my over active imagination! Beyond, totally beyond!
I’m convinced that there is something wrong with North America. The less time spent there the better for the mind and sanity.
Christina: I am officially an old git, and I can still twiddle knobs!
Me too, all sorts!!!!
The great advantage of knobs is that dogs can open lever handled doors!
I expect Vancouver has eaten all their dogs and don’t know this.
And lever handles are very good at catching in sleeves, which is bad for the blood pressure of senior citizens.
B** ‘inclusivity and equality’ – bah!
Last week I chanced to visit the web-site of a UK county archive. It wasn’t the most user-friendly site and nowhere near the standard of other sites I’ve used…
So I decided to respond to their “What do you think of our web-site’ questionnaire.
I was polite – honestly! And I tried to be constructive!
But when I got to the question about my ‘ethnicity’ and was the site ‘inclusive and equal’ – I answered (not quite so politely) that my ‘ethnicity’ was no business of theirs and the role of an archive was to provide information and not to get involved with the crazy UK political-correctness paranoia. Needless to say, I’ve had no response.
If the day comes when I can’t use door-knobs – then I’ll change them to levers. Until then I firmly believe that REAL political-correctness leaves people with a choice…
