We won, we won!

The Beeb has obligingly promised rain and more rain for Manchester today, which means that England will draw the match with the Aussies and retain the Ashes, even if the last two tests go the wrong way.

Monday's weather forecast at Old Trafford

Forecast Summary

  • Today

Cloudy with rain persisting for much of the day, very heavy at times with a risk of thundery bursts and localised flooding. Towards evening the rain will ease and slowly clear eastwards, perhaps allowing some late brightness in the west.

  1. Ah yes, the weather again, sigh!

We of course have been wanting an Ozzie win, not because of any southern hemisphere camaraderie, nor because of our close rugby association with them but because an England victory inches them closer to our hold on the top spot in the world rankings πŸ˜‰

Pity that today’s play looks likely to be ruined by the weather, it could have been a fascinating days play 😦

  2. Yes, the final day would probably have produced some fireworks – but I doubt that England would have risked losing by going for the runs.Could Aus have bowled them out? We’ll never know. (Or will we? πŸ™‚ )

  3. Oops! They’re playing! and England are two down for not a lot. NEVER trust the Beeb. 😦

  4. Quite correctly, they all trooped off for lunch on time and just finished their salads and desserts in time for the rain to recommence. We do need rain after the summer drought, innit?
