A-t-elle du nez?

Christine Lagarde, IMF chief

Peut-être. But is she clever enough to avoid the flak about her part in the ‘Tapie’ affair? First it was DSK who brought himself and the IMF into disrepute. Now it’s the stylish Christine. Or should she just go? Too much power for the froggies corrupts them? Absolument!

  1. France has had an exciting couple of days. Before the search of Lagarde’s apartment, there was the resignation of one of Hollande’s ministers who is being investigated on the charge of having an undeclared Swiss bank account. Then there was a motion of censure against the government in the Chambre des Députés yesterday, accusing the Prime Minister of not having a clue about policy. On top of all the political woes there is a new book by a journalist, Laurent Obertone, entitled “France, Clockwork Orange”, which argues that violent crime is on the rise in France thanks to immigrants. While the liberals are up on their hind legs voicing protests, it is true that when one reads accounts of court cases the names of those found guilty are usually not “français de souche”.

  2. Of course, Sarkozy is also under investigation – and his genealogy hardly qualifies him as having French roots!

  3. I’d forgotten about le petit Nicolas’s little Bettencourt problem! Just proves Obertone’s point.

  4. Sounds like she’d do better in Quebec! They have the most corrupt administration ever, sort of revolving door as to who resigns next, but as they are all as bad as each other they keep coming back for another bite of the cherry.

Nothing changes, nothing EVER changes, the frogs always were dodgy. Ducking and diving a speciality.

Sheona, it is amazing that everywhere crime is the same, 8/10 times the surname is never indigenous and still they let them in!!!!

  5. Christina, what about the celtic roots you share with the Bretons? They surely can’t be regarded as French, can they? 🙂

  6. Christina, France is much more efficient at getting rid of foreign undesirables than the UK, since the French government did not adopt the himan rights stuff into French law and simply ignores EU reprimands.

  7. #7 do they? My estimation goes up!
#5 Janus, we get a lot of Bretons in Wales, according to them the frogs don’t think they are French either!!!!
I used to have a lot of them stay in the cottages of my National Trust place.
#6 not far off!! It is absolutely ludicrous at the moment, all the mayors of cities in Quebec province are having to resign in turn.
