This pic was emblazoned across the front page of my daily read, the banner headline shouts…
“Crammed like sardines“

The byline suggests a ‘teacher shortage.’ I’d probably disagree with that, a common sense shortage at our East Cape Education Department perhaps or a “where’s the money gone?” shortage, even a “why did we offer grants to single mothers 10 years ago and not consider where their children would be educated” thought; but I honestly believe that there are enough teachers, the problem of course is deploying and finding the funds to pay them!
This is one rural school not too far from here, there must be thousands like it 😦

With any luck some Malthusian horror will winnow it down a bit!
A new variation on don’t breed what you can’t feed!
For all our education, we ignore Darwinian lessons. It is not the good and noble who will survive, but the fittest. In Africa, the Nigerians are pretty damn fit, as are the Chinese and Muslims. I suspect that similar patterns can be found elsewhere. One thing is for sure, in a society of ‘nice’ people, nice people come last. Richard Dawkins, (whom I now abhor) in his book the Selfish Gene, spoke the truth when he talked about societies of hawks and doves. Where there are too many hawks, doves will thrive. Where the reverse is true, it is the hawks that will grow in number. The West which has been dovish for a while is being infiltrated by hawks. We are doomed.
Do you come last, then, or is niceness off he menu?
Never mind a teacher shortage, what about a condom shortage?
