28th January

Yippee, it’s THAT day again!  Happy Wolf Moon to my cherished reader.

All esteemed colleagues are cordially invited to join me in a howl tonight.

Just loping around. Extremely fond of roast boar in particular, meat in general and cooking on the barbie. Fish is good too.

  1. I saw the moon this morning as she descended. Wonderful. Sadly I can’t see your picture. Is it me?

No, it was me again, c.f. Soutie’s explanation #4

  2. No, Pseu – I can’t see it either. I’ve checked the HTML and the URL and both seem OK to me, but I’ve had problems like this before.

    Thanks, FEEG. That’s the fella.

  3. Howzit Oz now fixed.

Nothing wrong with your code or picture EXCEPT….

If you are going to insert html you must be on the “text” page (that’s the html coding page)

You can’t enter html on the “visual” page otherwise it does what it says. Makes it visual!

You will see the “visual” and “text” tabs on the new / edit post screen 😉

  4. Cheers, Professor Soutie. I didn’t realise the relevance of the ‘visual’ and ‘text’ tabs before now – must have been just lucky, I guess, and been on the right page at the right time.

Don’t forget the howl now. 🙂

  5. Thank you, Janus. It is clear, still, cold and dark here now. Perfect howling weather.

  6. The moon was beautiful last night, but is hiding now. No matter. I shall howl anyway, in the company of wolves.

  7. Yes, unfortunately, one hundred percent cloud cover, raining and no chance whatsoever of seeing the moon.

No problem, OZ, I’ll howl anyway, if only because this rain, and wind is forecast to continue for the next week or so.

  8. FEEG – Now listen very carefully, I shall say zis only vonce!

Go outside right this minute and face yourself south-east. Sit down, take a deep breath and go for it. If it’s raining an anorak is permitted, but only if you don’t have a lupine double fur coat with soft, warm stuff underneath and waterproof guard hairs on top.

  9. Greetings to the Ladies from Henley and thanks for your moral support. I refer you both to para 2 of #12 above, not knowing for sure if mice and bilbies have a natural double coat.

  10. You’ll be delighted to know that, in common with wolves, bilbies have a double coat. However, in cold climes they need a third coat, which is why I needed your Drizabone. Feeling guilty now, OZ? No, I thought not. 🙂

  11. Whaaat! Bilbies have more coats than wolves?? Well according to Wiki (so it must be true), “Bilbies have the characteristic long bandicoot muzzle and very long ears. They are about 29–55 cm in length. Compared to bandicoots, they have a longer tail, bigger ears, and softer, silky fur, so you can borrow my Drizabone anytime.

  12. I slightly misunderstood your #14 at first reading Bilby, but at 29-55 cm in length don’t push your luck lest you become a tasty snack. 😀 Owned or borrowed a Drizabone peels off easily, even when wet.

  13. Ah, I see our relationship has reverted to the ‘prey/predator’ thingy. Not good, not good at all.

My ears are in need of grooming and I feel a hum coming on. Excuse me, Mr Wolf.

  14. G’morgen, Janus. OK, natural selection then and the Devil take the hindmost. I’m easy either way as long as they don’t give guns to boars and bilbies. 🙂

  15. The word is that the NRA is opening a branch in Portugal to defend the natural rights of little furry creatures……..

  16. Oz, please read my comment to you on the horses in jumpers blog. You obviously haven’t. I need you to get in touch privately re cardi.
