Photo comp #34 “Autumn”

I have just taken my dear old aunt to the dentist, and while driving her there, the autumn was very apparent. So, while it seems a trifle trite, the subject for the next comp is “Autumn”. This can be any aspect of Autumn from Halloween to Guy Fawkes or the (in our case, non-existent) apple harvest, or anything you think is representative of the autumnal season!

Deadline will be midnight on 1st December, as we should have returned from our Thanksgiving visit to Washington DC by then (hurricanes willing!)

  1. Not to be outdone by Theroyalist’s Westcentricity, I see you have adopted a Northcentric theme. We Southrons, the Chariot’s better half as it were, are celebrating spring in this hemisphere, so will have to delve into our albae (plural) for appropriate photos. Unless you allow for seasonal adjustments!

    Nothing very special; autumn has been a bit of a non event this year, but just to add to the entries and maybe I can contribute something better later;

  8. A tricky one for me, this competition, because most of the flora here are evergreen. The corks and the carobs don’t drop their leaves and all the native bushes stay defiantly leafy all winter long. However, when you wake up this morning to a view like this you just know it ain’t summer any more.

    I took that from the lounge window not an hour ago. t’s wet, dark and windy out there and in the cloud you can just make out the next range of hills. Me? I’m staying battened down in The Cave with a succulent joint of French boar simmering on the stove.

    Oops! I said that last bit out loud didn´t I?
