Do I have to decide?

OK, I suppose I must. The four lovelorn souls who dared to reveal their pain for the sake of the Chariot Cup all did themselves proud. Lots of passion and pathos, as required, and four very different love-objects: Soutie’s Kadett, JM’s Lulworth, Arrers’ Muse and JW’s Lilian. So many lines to savour and rhythms to tap to.

But needs must. Thank you again to all the poets but……………. My hankie was wettest when theroyalist tugged at his heart-strings. His loss of Lilian was too much to bear. So congratulations, JW! Fill the Chariot Cup with a consoling beverage of your choice, to be downed in one breathless gulp of course. Drown those sweet sorrows once again.

  1. So then, my Lady in red didn’t quite crack it (sob ) it worked for that de Burgh chap!

Did you get my Mary Hopkins connection? 🙂

  2. Oops I note that my comment hasn’t appeared in the sidebar, hope it’s a WP problem and that I haven’t broken anything 🙂

  3. Gaun yersel, JW.

Good luck against the mighty Gable Endies this afternoon.

Speaking to an East Fife fan last night who is severely depressed about the fact that they are probably going to be passing you going down at the end of the season and will miss out on the cash next year.

Not that it’s Juke Box’s fault that the Fife are falling apart. He’s still off sick and not necessarily going to be fit to resume managerial duties for a while yet, apparently. One of the good guys and a great servant to the Huns in his time. Even played briefly and pretty uselessly for us for one season.

Thanks for the interesting competition and well judged, Janus. I await JW’s rules of engagement with interest.

Sorry, old chap but I was probably influenced by memories of my own first car which broke my bank, not my heart!

Was that the singular Hopkin wot Paul McCartney sponsored? Welsh songbird, I recall.
