I remember buying 2 LP’s with my very first pay cheque, Machinehead was one (the other, Uriah Heep’s Demons and Wizards) My favourite track wasn’t Smoke on the water but Highway star. memories 🙂
I read his obit in the Telegraph, and I hate to say that I didn’t have a clue who he was. I must have been otherwise engaged, musically speaking.
