And if, like me, you find the lyrics a bit difficult, here they are:
Well, I’m gonna raise a fuss
I’m gonna raise a holler
About a working all summer
Just to try to earn a dollar
Well, time I called my baby
Try to get a date
My boss says, no dice son
You gotta work late
Sometimes I wonder
What I’m a gonna do
But there ain’t no cure
For the summertime blues
Oh, well my Mom and Poppa told me, son
You gotta make some money
If you want to use the car
To go ridin’ next Sunday
Well I didn’t go to work
Told the boss I was sick
Well you can’t use the car
Cause you didn’t work a lick
Sometimes I wonder
What I’m a gonna do
But there ain’t no cure
For the summertime blues
I’m gonna take two weeks
Gonna have a fine vacation
I’m gonna take my problem
To the United Nations
Well I called my congressman
And he said, whoa
I’d like to help you son
But you’re too young to vote
Sometimes I wonder
What I’m a gonna do
But there ain’t no cure
For the summertime blues
It’s sunny and warm here, and the wind has dropped. We sat out in the garden yesterday evening for the first time for ages!
The forecast looks good for tomorrow and then thunderstorms and showers toward the weekend.
Grey skies and rain – it reached a chilly 16 here today. 😦
Sounds like the English summer we’ve had so far, Boadicea.
Fine and sunny here in Kiev 🙂 Back to the rain tomorrow 😦
We put the gazebo up for the summer today. It is bound to pour with rain now, even more assuredly than having Wimbledon fortnight just started.
Mist and rain here, although I can’t complain; it was dry and bright at my son’s sports day this morning…
Gloomy rain, windy and 56F.
What bloody summer?
CO, I’m surprised that with your contacts you can’t do better! Doesn’t the Land of the Free offer any guarantees? 😉
Hot as Hades here. Still 35ª in the shade at 17.30 hrs, muggy and unusually high humidity. Most of the country is on amber or even red alert for UV levels. They are forecasting 43ª in the interior and olds will be dropping like flies, unfortunately.
Just done three hours in the garden cutting back cacti – it was not pleasant, but a couple of cold ones and a refreshing dip in the pool beckons.
