Yesterday a day in the garden, admiring the contrasting leaf textures, light effects and …. well relaxing and then working! Today’s work entailed, amongst other things the deconstruction of an over grown shrub – how very satisfying – the contrast between before and after. Space for a new tree perhaps?
Geranium, back-lit
Granny’s bonnets
Spider’s web
Wisteria against dark maple leaf.

They are just wonderful contrasts.
Lots of hard work, but very pleasing results, Nym. 🙂
thanks Ara! Must get out there soonish!
I’m heading in the same direction shortly.
Lovely day again, isn’t it? 🙂
Beautiful photos, as usual, Pseu!
I looked at your ‘Granny’s Bonnet’ and thought: ‘I know those as Columbine” Love them – they are the only plant I ever managed to grow successfully until we moved to Brisbane!
Much later here, we’ve only just sown our beans, peas, sweet peas, courgettes and marrows.
Looking good.
Janus, my seeds for those sorts of things are in the greenhouse – not yet out in the garden… not until the delayed vg plot project is finished anyway !.
Boadicea, the granny’s bonnets are also known as aquiegia ….
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquilegia – they self seed everywhere!
Thank you Christina.
Fantastic day, Ara – and the wind rather welcome!
Hi Nym.
Oddly enough it was very windy yesterday when we went to visit my mother’s grave, but today here, it has been much less windy.
But yes, I did potter, read a book in the garden and then went to visit an elderly friend. It’s been a lovely day indeed.
More wonderful pictures, Pseu!
Thank you, Christopher.
And Ara, only just dark!
