Somewhere Special?

I always thought there was something special about this place, the eagles, the osprey and the otters were clues, but yesterday after the rain I was convinced.

I may take the dinghy and a shovel and dig about by that abandoned duck blind, who knows?

  1. Wot you need there, LW, is at least twenty metres on the hill and a decent Cave thereron.

    OZ

  2. Magical, LW. There’s just something about rainbows, but the eagles, the osprey and the otters would be enchanting photographic studies too.

Not to mention bees and bugs!

I didn’t say that, really; blatant soliciting for entries. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. please can you explain ‘abandoned duck blind’? Is it something like a duck decoy?

  4. LW it always strikes me that you ended up in a home from home, tends to look rather similar to the lower Severn valley.

Pseu a duck blind is a redoubt or hide, (shed) from which to shoot ducks, generally camouflaged.

  5. CO: Very like it in appearance, the big difference is the tide (or lack of it) we might get a four foot tide if the wind is strong from the south west. The tides at Beachley (Glos.) generally run 42 feet twice a day (about fifteen miles an hour at full flow) that’s not a place for the casual boater.

Pseu: CO is correct, sorry about the jargon, I’ve been here a VERY long time, I really do have difficultly sometimes remembering what is English and what ain’t.

  6. Yeah, the tide! We get a regular 35′ in Milford Sound, twice a day and a lot worse than that on spring tides!
Becomes quite interesting walking the dogs!
