Bearsy is out of Intensive Care, but is still being monitored 24 hours a day.
He seems to have suffered no physical problems, and is mobile – albeit it slowly. He is still far too sleepy to eat properly or talk much.
My visits consist mainly of just holding his hand while he sleeps. When he does surface, it is clear that he understands what is being said, can answer questions and knows that I am there. His sleep is far more peaceful, and he is surfacing more frequently.
The docs assure me that they are very pleased with his progress, and that it is not like the movies where people wake up fully compos mentis. It is a case of just waiting and that it not unusual for people of our age to take a long time to recover.
Thank you for your concern.
I think Boadicea, in her original thread did indicate, that it might take time. It could be a “long haul”. I’m sure she will update us should there be any change.
I’m going on the “no news is good news” theory.

Ah, thank you, Boadicea. I posted before I saw your comment!
Promising news,
The medics have emphasised that the process of recovery is two steps forward, one step back.
Today, was definitely three steps forward. 🙂
