Ineptocracy
New Word:
Could not find it in my old dictionary. Googled it and discovered it is a recently “coined” new word found on a T-shirt on eBay. Getting really close to the bone! Read this one over slowly and absorb the facts that totally are within this sentence!
Ineptocracy
(in-ep-toc’-ra-cy) – a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.
Christopher, the word goes some way to describing South Africa under the ANC leadership. But it is far from complete. The definition does not seem to include corruption, willful destruction of the economy and public institutions and racist policies bordering on being genocidal. It is not possible to fathom the depths of incompetence and corruption achieved by these utterly useless creatures. It is sad to say, but South Africa is now beyond the point of no return. The ethos of being entitled to something for nothing has spread throughout every strata of African society. Future generations will not, indeed cannot be taught the rule of law as nobody believes or even understands it. Zimbabwe’s nadir will look like a Swiss celebration in comparison.
Sipu: I take it that your description of South Africa today is not too far removed from JM Coetzee’s scathing explanation of why he not only moved to Australia but also became an Australian citizen, thus renouncing South African citizenship? To roughly quote him “a country with no heart and no morals, a direction-less land only going from bad to worse”. My advice to you is to stay away from San Francisco. I’ve been publicly rebuked for simply stating that Afrikaners were living in South Africa for longer than the Bantu peoples and that the Bantu were hardly the nicest to other black Africans. Never mind if it was true or not.
JMC’s book Disgrace does provide a fairly accurate insight to this country, I believe. Reading and watching the local news here is just so depressing. And that is just what gets reported. These people have consciously returned to unrestrained savagery. It really is alarming.
Interestingly, a deputy minister for Agriculture, a white Afrikaner from an opposition party recently stated in parliament something similar to what you said in your penultimate sentence. Though, he only mentioned the Western Cape, which is actually more accurate. The Bantu did occupy the Eastern Cape as far south as the Kei River. In any event, he was severely censured by all sides. Africans and the media said he was re-writing history. How would they know? The only history they have was written by whites, and the records are very clear and consistent as to the extent Bantu had colonised the region. White parties tacitly admitted the truth, but given the sensitive nature of land distribution, such a statement was only ever going to backfire.

Brilliant word Chris, absolutely brilliant to be absorbed into the pantheon of insults immediately!
I think the word was coined for the UK!
I suppose in reality it fits at least half the world. Whatever went so very wrong? (rhetorical)
God, do we need a clear out.
What a lovely addition to one’s vocabulary, Christopher. I think it sounds almost like a definition of “democracy”. 🙂
