  1. My mistake, Christina. I meant the song (wot he wrote) and the performance (by ‘im). He may be a dirty long-haired layabout, but he’s a rich and famous dirty, long-haired layabout! 😆

  2. christinaosborne :

    Never heard of him

I’m sure that you have Christina

Back in the day he was famous along with his band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, they played 4 songs at the Philadelphia Live Aid concert, here’s one of their more well known ones.

He was also one of The Traveling Wilburys (remember them, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynn, George Harrisson, Roy Orbisson and Tom)

  3. Couldn’t help tapping my foot and joining in with the Wilburys’ song!

Here’s an interesting snippet from wiki…

Roy Orbison’s death on December 6, 1988, brought the end of the original lineup. In tribute to Orbison, during the music video for “End of the Line”, when Orbison sings, his guitar is shown rocking in a chair as the rest of the group play, followed by a brief shot focusing on a framed picture of him.”

  4. I think I shall take Bearsy’s song as my theme for the next few weeks!

Nothing to do with the Chariot, or any of its members – but oh! so appropriate at this moment 🙂

  5. No, never have heard of him!
Live aid! Me? You have to be joking!
I’m all for letting them starve, don’t breed what you can’t feed!

  6. I think he’s quite a good looking lad, Christina.

Boadicea, I just wish there was something those of us in England could do to help. Bon courage!

  7. I feel somewhat cheered that at the moment it looks like I’ll have three seats to myself on the long leg, and two on the short stage – let’s hope that the flight stays as empty as it looks now! 🙂

  8. Sheona Nah, too grubby and hairy! Probably got yesterday’s dinner in that hair, yukk!

Bo, not easy, you have my empathy, being neeed both ends gets you to the elastic trick, just make sure you don’t ‘ping’ too hard! God, Vancouveris bad enough, my heart quails at the thought of flying to the antipodes, not for all the tea in China!

  9. Boadicea, re your #5, ‘courage’, (said with a French accent). I have just been talking with a friend about her mother who is also not well. Like CO, I empathise.
