That’s the problem with monarchy – we never get a chance to be ruled by a man of the people like Eric. He’s passionate, popular and apolitical and wasn’t a bad footballer either. Angela Merkel would swoon in his presence too. Best of all, if he came across Mandelson he’d kung fu him bigtime*!
* a reference to Eric’s treatment of an abusive spectator when he was red-carded.
All together now!
I’d rather have the queen……
As Frenchmen go, there are a lot worse and I would love to see him drop kick the Magyar dwarf into the anals (sic) of history.
When he was in Los Angeles, Billy Connolly lived on the same street as Frank Zappa, but was too nervous to introduce himself. After Zappa’s death his wife divulged that Frank was a) a big Connolly fan but too nervous to introduce himself either and b) wanted to be president of the USA. “Can you imagine it”, mused Connolly, “President Zappa with me as the vice-president.”
Bring it on!
OZ
Er, well according The Guardian he is not running for president; it’s a publicity stunt:

He’s as mad as a bucket of frogs!!!!
Does no-one remember the “seagulls” fiasco?
Anybody here seen the film Looking for Eric?
I very very rarely watch movies, as it happened an overseas visitor was telling me what a great movie it is and when I got home that night it was on!
I watched it.
Well worth the time, Eric is the king.
Perhaps the French should re-establish the monarchy Long Live King Eric!
But Ferret, he’d be in charge of a large bucket of Frogs, n’est-ce pas?
Mon Dieu 🙂
“When the seagulls follow the trawler, it’s because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea. Thank you very much.”
I’ve never heard of this guy.
BUT! If Cuprum reckons he’d prefer the Queen, Eric must be pretty bad!
Confirmed today as a publicity stunt for the homeless.
And Boadicea, Eric is a pompous, arrogant, narrow minded ex-footballer who fancies himself as a bit of an actor and a philosopher. So, a typical Frenchman really, hence, I’d rather the Queen as the head of my state!
Hm! I’m surprised you know Eric well enough to offer such an analysis. 🙂
