We’ve no shortage of rhinos down here, here’s a recent video of the efforts made to repopulate other regions. (E.P.Herald report here)
They moved nineteen of them!
The facility to watch the video on The Chariot has been disabled, simply click on the ‘Watch on YouTube’ button (bottom right,) to view.
Thanks for this. Let’s hope that the reserves remain secret so that these animals have a chance to thrive.
I’ sure I would like this, Soutie, but I can’t see it. It says “Embedding disabled by request. Watch on YouTube.”
Just click on the “Watch on YouTube”, Sheona.
Morning all
Well I didn’t even think to check that it would play after embedding it! 😕
I’ll adjust the post to encourage those that would like to watch to click on the ‘Youtube’ button (thanks Bearsy)
Thanks, Bearsy, for that tip. Technically illiterate is what a colleague once called me.
Thanks for the video, Soutie. I do hope the project succeeds.
That is wonderful. But I found it so very disconcerting that they were being lifted just around the ankles, I wanted to add a strap or net around the back to take some of the weight!
Evening Pseu.
Interesting point, are you worried about them needing hip replacements some time in the future?
I’m happy to think that the parks guys know what they’re doing
Yes, I’m sure they do. But that’s a huge weight on those weight bearing limbs and joints which are not like monkey one’s (designed to swing weight as they swing in the trees!)
I wouldn’t lift a human that way, unless thy were a small child (as in ‘a leg and a wing to see the king’) but even so it is not that unusual for a child to have a dislocated elbow or shoulder through being passively swung by an arm and a leg…
