Phil the Bubble does it again

Once again, Prince Philip has expressed a view that a large majority of the country agree with, but those in the corrupt political classes do not.

He has stated, to the face of the CEO of a major wind turbine manufacturer, that wind farms are useless.

Keep dishing it out, Duke!

  1. It’s about time someone who will be reported in the media has the courage to say what the rest of us think!

  2. Despite the slight error in calling him Greek, he is German/Dutch/Spanish/Russian/English anything but Greek.

I Like him for his outspoken attitude and in calling a spade a spade.

About someone said what we all know to be true (except Hume, but then he lies about driving as well)

I know, but Phil the Bubble is so much better than Phil the Pastry!

  4. One thing the man is a patriot more than you can say about those creeping bastards in government.

I know my way well to that govt website thank you!

Aye weel, RR. Were I Greek, I would be proud to hail him as a fellow countryman. Born in Corfu and the nephew of the reigning monarch of Greece at the time. Ergo et prima facie, surely just a wee bit Greekish?. I am absolutely certain that he would been an asset and credit to the Hellenic nation had they had not managed to get creamed by the Turks, as a result of which Phil and family had to be evacuated by the Royal Navy.

So, we got him and he has been a credit to my nation ever thereafter. In my opinion. British through and through and one of the best. My father-in-law served in his only command, ‘ HMS Magpie’. and was devoted to him.

I have met him once myself. He was an utter joy.

  6. Nationality is a weird thing isn’t it. second or third generation Pakistani/Indian/Afro Caribbean is still classed a non English because of skin colour. Yet a man who is born in Corfu from a lineage that has never married a Greek person is classed as Greek.

Personally I think of Philip as a typical English person, when people say he says the wrong things I believe most times he thinks “sod all this PC crap, this is what I think” and good luck to him

  7. How far do you go back to define Nationality? I wonder whether Mr Windsor (oo how he hates not giving his artificial surname to Mrs Windsor (another artificial surname)) feels English/British? I agree he acts a darn site more patriotic than most pollies, but that’s because he has no power therefore nothing to loose. Privilege has its privilege!

Him and his son are still a bit of a waste of space for me. But hey, what harm can they do?

  8. Oh dear! It looks as though a promising discussion about the futility of Huhne’s energy policy is about to be hijacked by some boring anti-royalist obsessive.

  9. Ah, David, welcome. Fell free to discuss the subject the, no-one is stopping you. I thought the blog may be about Phil the Bubble, but there you go, silly obsessed boring me.

Enlighten us about the policy of the Energy Secretary and where you believe it is right or wrong, please.

If you do you will be very welcome. If you carry on just hurling childish insults, my fellow charioteers will be much less polite than I dear chap. 😀

  10. Hi David – nice to see you here!

I don’t care whether Phil (known as the Greek!) is really Greek or German/Dutch/Spanish/Russian/English – I am absolutely delighted that he says things as he sees them… oh! for a few more like him!

  11. I am not a huge fan of the royals, but I often do find the disparaging one liners of the senior royals highly amusing, if only because of their complete disregard for all the PC claptrap and doublespeak jargon that has gripped the rest of the nation. Reminds me, a bit, of the Queen’s reported comment on the official wedding dress display, because she voiced what everyone must have been thinking – that even though the dress and the wearer were absolutely beautiful, the subsequent macabre floating headless display that they came up with was, indeed, ‘horrid.’

  12. Cuprum – I should explain that David is someone who(m) we all know from the earliest days of MyT. He’s currently appearing there as “Amicus”, although he also answers to several other soubriquets. Please take everything he says with a large pinch of salt. He rarely appears on the Chariot, so we are inclined to indulge his idiosyncrasies.

David – let me explain that Cuprum is a fine young gentleman who(m) Boadicea and I know very well; he bears a charmed existence on The Chariot. His primary expertise is in Rugby Union and Cricket – credentials that should convince you of his worth.

    😆 😆

  13. Fank you Bearsy, I hear your words and shall endeavour to be a charioteer to make you proud and meanwhile monitor my salt intake for the sake of my blood pressure! 😀 😀

  14. Since the Energy Secretary is Huhne, cuprum, the only thing I want to read about him is that the police have finally nailed him for getting his wife to own up to his speeding points. Then Cameron can dispense with his services.

Of course wind turbines are a waste of money, until someone comes up with a way of storing all the power they generate.

    Good day to you, David.

  15. Wind ‘farms’ don’t farm anything but subsidies. They are a mechanism for transferring money from the pockets of all citizens into the pockets of the landowners and shareholders in the useless windmills that litter the countryside.

  16. Rick – There was an impressive amount of shrapnel in the aftermath.

Christopher – Amen. HMQ is bound constitutionally not to speak out, but Phil can tell it like it is.
